Postgridiots is an initiative by PhD students in Linguistics and English Language at The University of Manchester which aims to fill the gaps in your linguistic knowledge. It was founded by Danielle Turton in 2012 and has been curated by Danielle (2012-2014) and by Míša Hejná (2014-2015). In this series, PhD and MA students present on topics in linguistics in which they are relative experts, to their colleagues: the enraptured postgridiots. The sessions cover specific theories in linguistics of which you may know nothing, or perhaps it’ll be something more general which you’ve happened to miss during the course of your many linguistic degrees.
Postgridiots takes place during the teaching term. The scene of crime is the Phonetics Lab (Samuel Alexander, W3.18), on Wednesdays at 12:00-13:00 (unless stated otherwise). See Talks for more information.
If you’d like to give a talk in Postgridiots (strongly recommended), please contact the current curator.
